Welcome to A & J Quality Roofing, where Quality always comes first. Many people ask what or who are A & J? A & J Quality Roofing was established by brothers Alex and Jim Erisoty in 1956. Jim came home from serving in the U.S. Army in 1955. Alex was working for a local roofing company at the time and soon recruited his brother to work. After only weeks, Jim was promoted to foreman and began to feel he could strike out on his own after a year. After discussing what to name the company, Jim opened the business in the state of Connecticut in 1956 as A & J Quality Roofing and sold three jobs within the first week. Calling his brother, Jim told Alex of the upcoming jobs and the rest is history.
Since then, we have gained the trust of not only countless homeowners throughout Farmington Valley and beyond, but we also have been employed by businesses and municipalities alike. We have worked on many projects for institutions like Bremar Rental, Cape Cod Fence, New England Scrapbook, the Blue House, Collinsville Savings Bank, the Barkhamsted & New Hartford historical societies, the town of Canton, the New Hartford Board of Education and others.
Jim officially retired in 2000 but still occasionally visits a job or answers your questions on the phone. Son Gregory took over the business then and gets summertime assistance from grandson James when he’s not at UConn studying. We believe in completing every job from start to finish and do not subcontract out the work. The men who work with Greg are trained professionals in all types of roofing. We have experience in installing asphalt shingles, metal roofing systems, cedar shingles, slate, modified bitumen and rubber roofing.
No matter how big or small the job, we handle all projects the same with Quality and Care. Fully licenced (lic# 00503809) and insured. We specialize in roofing but also offer a variety of other services such as:
Three generations of roofing (from left): Founder Jim Erisoty, son Gregory Erisoty and grandson James Erisoty
